The Nash Lab was founded on the thesis that business problems are not as variant as the consulting industry claims — that most reduce to a small set of first-principles failures in incentive, information, and power. We build the software that applies this view in the wild. Hivemind is the first product.

    Businesses' problems are not as variant as we think. They stem from core illnesses that show different symptoms case by case.

    AI is reliable at (1) solving problems from provided principles, (2) generating content, and (3) conducting meritocratic analysis.

    The consulting industry's offer is to problem-solve for businesses from an external perspective. The industry has lost its way, and no longer provides that value to its clients.

    The networking-based structure of the corporate world is inefficient. It does not hire in alignment with firms' value propositions.

Hiring

No resumes.
Blind exams.

Hiring is the first place consulting fails, and we will not reproduce it. We hire two groups — consultants and academics — by radically different procedures.

Consultants
Full-day two-part exam. Part 1: five-hour problem set spanning mathematics, philosophy, and case analysis. Part 2: tournaments in Go, Hex, Backgammon, Othello, and Chess. Selection by combined score / ranking. No credential filter is applied before the exam.
Academics
Hired via executive selection, consultant vote, or the director of academic hiring subject to executive confirmation. The criterion is contribution to the strategic knowledge base — not prestige.
Engineers
Problem-first. Split into core software engineering and forward-deployed engineering, the latter embedded with clients as a personal software assistant. Same exam format, different scoring weights.
